We are currently experiencing widespread flu in Midland County and throughout most of the United States. The flu is a contagious respiratory illness that can cause mild to severe infection in the nose, throat, and lungs. In some cases serious flu-related complications, like pneumonia, can lead to hospitalization and even death. please remember the flu vaccine protects against respiratory influenza, not noro-like GI symptoms.

Public health officials and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) are continuing to see an elevated number of hepatitis A cases in Southeast Michigan. As of today's date, there have been no documented cases in Midland County related to this outbreak (12/21/17).
