Sheriff Stephenson

Sheriff Scott Stephenson is a fourth generation Midland native who was educated in the Midland Public School system.  He attended Indiana University and graduated in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts & Sciences degree in criminal justice. Sheriff Stephenson then attended the Northeastern Police Academy in 1993 and was hired by the Clare County Sheriff’s Office in 1994.

In 1995 Sheriff Stephenson was hired by the Midland County Sheriff’s Office as a road patrol deputy. While working at the Midland County Sheriff’s Office he has been a member of the Midland SWAT team, a detective for BAYANET, a road patrol sergeant and the jail manager.

On January 1, 2013 Sheriff Stephenson began his first term as the Midland County Sheriff. He is the 27th Sheriff of Midland County since the office began in 1855. Sheriff Stephenson resides in Midland with his three children.

Captain Goodall

Captain Goodall joined the Midland County Sheriff’s Office in March of 1990 as a Corrections Officer, and he was immediately reassigned to the Road Patrol Division due to retirements. Captain Goodall was promoted to Sergeant in 1999, Lieutenant in 2001 and to Captain in 2005.  During that time Captain Goodall experienced short assignments as the Jail Administrator and Detective Lieutenant. His responsibilities include the oversight of the Road Patrol, Detective Bureau, Marine Patrol, Animal Control, and Court Security Divisions of the Midland County Sheriff’s Office.

Captain Goodall has lived in Midland County for over forty years.  He is a graduate of Sanford Meridian High School and Michigan State University.  He and his wife currently live in the Sanford area.  He has two grown children.


Captain Harnois

Jail Captain Harnois was hired by the Midland County Sheriff's Office as a Road Patrol deputy in May of 1992.  He worked many assignments related to road patrol including accident re-constructionist, dive team member/coordinator, undercover narcotic detective and Sergeant.

Captain Harnois is responsible for the oversight of the Midland County Jail and the Transport Division of the Midland County Sheriff's Office.

He is a graduate of Bridgeport High School and Michigan State University, and has been a resident of Midland County for the past 22 years. Captain Harnois and his wife live in Midland and they have two children attending Midland Public Schools.

Administrative Secretary Blevons

Amber Blevons has served with the Midland County Sheriff's Office since 2006.  Her Administrative duties include assisting the Sheriff and maintaining his calendar, processing new hirees and maintaining personnel files.  She manages all grants pertaining to the Sheriff's Office, and oversees the Records Bureau.

Amber has lived in Midland County for over 20 years. She is actively involved in ministry at her church alongside her husband, and together they have two young daughters.
