First COVID-19 Death Confirmed in Midland County

The Midland County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) received notification today of the first local death attributed to COVID-19. The individual was an elderly male with underlying health conditions. He was hospitalized and passed away on April 7, 2020 at MidMichigan Medical Center - Midland.

On March 13th, 2020 President Donald Trump declared the COVID-19 pandemic a national emergency.  Since then we have made several procedural changes to not only protect our staff but the inmates we care for at the Midland County Jail and the community we serve.
