Averill Trailhead Dedication Ceremony July 30th at 11:00 a.m.

Midland County Parks & Recreation Commission is having the ribbon cutting for the new trailhead on the Pere Marquette Rail Trail.  The Averill Trailhead is the newest addition for bikers, joggers and all that enjoy the Pere Marquette Rail Trail.  This new stop on the way from Midland to Coleman and beyond has a overlook of the Tittabawassee River where during the logging days it was used as one of the largest log rolls in the State.  In addition to the new trailhead ceremony we will also be celebrating the refurbishment of 2 miles of the trail from Barden to Alamando Roads.  The event will be Thursday July 30th at 11:00 a.m. at the Averill Trailhead (see attached flyer with map).  If you have questions, please call the Midland County Parks & Recreation Commission (John Schmude) at 989-687-2396.

Pinecrest Farms Annual Pig Roast

All are welcome to the Pinecrest Farms community Pig Roast!

Pinecrest is celebrating its sesquicentennial on Wednesday July 22 from 5:00 - 8:00.  There will be live music, a historical exhibit, a brief presentation and wrapping up the event with an old fashioned pig roast.

The short presentation will take place at 5:30 pm and include the presentation of a commemorative tribute from Governor Snyder's office. State and local representatives will be on-site to present and accept the tribute.

Being that this year is Pinecrest's sesquicentennial, and the addition of the historical exhibit and hopefully some great summer weather we anticipate more folks to show up and enjoy this special day.

RSVPs are not required but are encouraged. If you are planning on attending please email Administrator Joe Blewett at jblewett@co.midland.mi.us

Come enjoy a great evening and celebrate a milestone for Pinecrest Farms!
