March 18th, 2020 - MEDIA RELEASE

On March 13th, 2020 President Donald Trump declared the COVID-19 pandemic a national emergency.  In an effort to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, we are doing our part to proactively keep our citizens, employees and the community healthy and safe. As a result, the Midland Law Enforcement Center, Sheriff’s Office lobby services will be closed to the public until April 5th, 2020. 

The following services will NOT be offered at this time:

  • Preliminary Breath Tests
  • Fingerprinting
  • Dump Your Drugs Drop Off 
  • Midland County Sex Offenders that normally report to the Midland County Sheriff’s Office will not be accepted at this time.  Midland County Sex offenders will need to report to a Michigan State Police Post, such as the Tri-City Michigan State Police Post, 2402 Salzburg Rd., Freeland, MI 48623 or call 989-495-5555.

Any person that has positive indicators including cough, fever, a temperature over 100.4 degrees and or difficulty breathing; STOP and please DO NOT enter the Law Enforcement Center.

The following services we will continue to offer at this time:

Completed Pistol Sales Records for residents that live in Midland County will need to be mailed to: Midland County Sheriff’s Office, 2727 Rodd St., Midland, MI 48640.  Certified mail is not accepted.  For any Midland County resident purchasing a pistol, that does not have a Concealed Pistol License, or is not purchasing from a federal firearms licensed retailer, please call 989-839-4630 to make an appointment to obtain a License to Purchase (8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday).  Please call 989-839-4630 for other questions or clarification of services regarding pistol sales registration at this time.

Personal Protection Orders will be accepted by appointment by calling 989-839-4630, during the hours of 8:00 am to 4:40 pm, Monday through Friday.

Civil Process Paper Service please call 989-839-4630, to obtain the fee required with the submission of the papers to be served.  All fees are required with the submission of the civil paper service.  Please mail the papers to be served and appropriate fee to: Midland County Sheriff’s Office, 2727 Rodd St., Midland, MI 48640.  Certified mail is not accepted.

Copies of Reports, please submit a Freedom of Information Act Request via email to sheriffrecords@midland.mi.us, by fax at 989-839-4611 or mailed to: Midland County Sheriff’s Office, 2727 Rodd St., Midland, MI 48640.  Certified mail is not accepted.
