Corrections Deputies

Multiple positions (Part-Time- 20 hours)

Looking for part time Correctional Deputies to fill openings.  Duties for this position include conducting security rounds, accepting and releasing inmates, and working with inmates and civilians and other duties as assigned by Sheriff’s Office Administration. 

Candidates must pass a Background check, Physical agility test, Psychological and Medical Evaluation and meet all MSCTC standards, including a passing score on the EMPCO Corrections test prior to appointment.  Test information can be obtained at . Applicants will be required to participate in an oral interview process.  Hourly rate starting at $15.59 progressing to $27.31 on a 5 year wage scale.

Midland County Mosquito Control and Parks and Recreation Department - Seasonal 

Mosquito Control Technicians -  Monday, April 2 – Friday, September 14 - Performs work of routine difficulty in mosquito control operations.  Conducts field inspections and application of insecticides in areas such as woodlots, flooded fields, marshes, ditches and other areas with rugged terrain with significant obstacles; will work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions including rain and variable temperatures; performs routine maintenance and repair of equipment; maintains daily records of activities; answers questions and interacts with the public. Starting wage is $9.75/hr.

Mosquito Control Clerk (GIS)  - Monday, March 19 – Friday, September 14 - Under immediate supervision; provides office management and support.  Familiarity with geographic information systems software preferred.   Enters treatment records and develops summary reports.  Responds to telephone inquiries concerning mosquito control activities. Starting wage is $11.45/hr.

Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent, VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE AND GOOD DRIVING RECORD MANDATORY; ability to read maps and perform simple math computations.  Onsite training provided for the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Registered Applicator exam.  Candidates wishing to be considered for these positions must pass a physical/ drug screen and background check.  Must be able to work weekends, holidays and shift work.  Technicians must be able to lift and/or carry 50lbs over rough terrain. 

Park Rangers- Under the supervision of the Parks and Recreation Director, with overview and direction provided by other full-time Park staff, performs park maintenance tasks and participates in the construction and repair of park facilities.  Operates park vehicles and equipment.  Oversees the park visitors to ensure they adhere to park rules and regulations.  Works outside on a regular basis with exposure to various weather conditions. Starting wage is $9.75/hr.  

Gatekeepers- Under the supervision of the supervisor on shift, Seasonal Gatekeepers greet customers entering the park, answer customers’ questions, provides information on procedures or policies, assists in resolving complaints, collects money and issues permits.  Interactions with the public are to be courteous and professional at all times.  Starting wage is $9.75/hr.  

Requirements-  Must be at least 18 years of age or older.  Have a high school diploma or equivalent. GOOD DRIVING RECORD MANDATORY.  Candidates wishing to be considered for these positions must pass a physical/drug screen/background check and be able to lift 80lbs.  Must be able to work weekends, holidays and shift work.

On Call Nursing Supervisor 

Under the supervision of the Pinecrest Administrator, organizes and directs the nursing and health care services on a scheduled shift.  Administers medications and treatments as required and maintains appropriate records.  Supervises and directs other facility staff on an assigned shift and assists them as necessary in carrying out their job functions.  Greets and assists visitors to the facility and answers incoming telephone calls.  Oversees the residents and assists and encourage them in their daily activities, interactions and problem resolutions. 

Licensure as a Practical Nurse in the State of Michigan.  Two years of nursing experience, preferably in a geriatric rehabilitation setting in long-term care, home health, residential housing or a similar setting which provided care to gerontology and/or mentally and physically disabled clients.  Able to become certified in CPR and First Aid.

Salary $21.10/hr.  Position will remain open until filled.

On-Call Resident Associate

Midland County Adult Residential Care Facility seeking individuals to work casual, on-call hours, with the potential of working into a part-time position.  Must be available to work all shifts with a special needs population.  Valid driver's license and high school diploma required.  Experience in housekeeping and personal care a plus. Salary $13.73/hour.
