The historic Midland County Courthouse was constructed in 1924. It has unique architecture of the Tudor Style and is one of the most photographed courthouses in Michigan. Located in downtown Midland at 301 W Main Street, the historic structure remains the center of court activity for the community.
Since 1966, Chippewa Nature Center has been connecting people to nature through educational, recreational and cultural experiences. The Visitor Center and 20+ miles of trails are open daily with free admission. Visitors attend festivals, naturalist-led hikes and paddling trips, workshops and more. Nature Preschool and Nature Day Camp introduce children to a lifelong relationship with the natural world.
Venture out for a walk on trails that take you through diverse ecosystems. Bike the Chippewa Trail to Downtown Midland. Snowshoe or ski snowy trails in winter. All visitors can enjoy two universally accessible trails.
County Offices will be closed on February 17, 2025 in observance of President's Day.
