DOCUMENT 00010 – INVITATION TO BID
Midland County Department of Parks & Recreation will receive sealed proposals from qualified bidders until 2:00 p.m. (local time) on Tuesday, December 8, 2009, for the Sanford Lake Park Bath House Addition and Renovation project. The Owner intends to award multiple prime contracts for the following Bid Divisions with the Architect’s assistance.

1071 – Fluid-Applied Roofing
1081 - H.M. Doors & Hardware
1091 – Paint & Coatings
1010 – Toilet Specialties
1151 - Plumbing
1161 – Electrical
Overall administration of the project will be the responsibility of the Architect. A pre-bid meeting will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at the site, 368 Irish Street, Sanford, Michigan 48657. This meeting is not mandatory but bidders are encouraged to attend. The Owner and Architect will all be in attendance and will cover project scope and bidding requirements. Bidding Documents will be available at the meeting. A building & site tour and walk-through specific to the project will be provided.
Proposals may be mailed or hand delivered to Midland County Department of Finance, c/o Denise Mason, Procurement & Contract Administrator, Room 360, 220 West Ellsworth Street, Midland, Michigan 48640-5194. Proposals must be received before 2:00 p.m. (local time) on Tuesday, December 8, 2009. Proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud on Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. in the First Floor Conference Room of the Midland County Building.
Each bidder may obtain up to three sets of Bidding Documents by making request though the office of Trinity Architecture & Management, LLC; 1699 S. Otsego Avenue, Gaylord, MI 49735; phone: 989-448-4705, fax: 866-845-6317. A $50 refundable deposit per set is required from the bidder to the Architect prior to the issuance of documents. Checks shall be made payable to Midland County.
Bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the base bid amount shall be included with each proposal in the form of a bid bond, cashiers check or money order payable to Midland County. A personal or company check is not considered a bid security. Proposals shall be submitted on the forms provided in the bidding documents and shall be completed in accordance with the contract documents.
Proposals shall remain open for the owner’s consideration for a period of sixty days. Midland County reserves the right to accept, reject or modify the terms of any or all proposals, to accept other than low bid and to waive and/or permit errors, informalities or irregularities in proposals that the Owner consider in their best interest
